Jan 10, 2010 Meeting
1/24/2011 7:06:36 PM
The January meeting began at 6:30 pm. After the Treasurer's report, open discussion took place regarding the December 13, 2010 meeting. The President pointed out, that per membership vote, we are to conduct all operations of the club using the guidance of Robert's rules of order; however, the November election of new officers did not adhere to Robert's rules. Per Robert's rules the president has the right to veto any process not adhering to club election process. Therefore, the at the December meeting the President vetoed the election of the 2011 officers because Robert's rules were not adhered to and called for another election to take place. Several of the dealers got upset and decided to leave resulting in the members thinking the meeting was over. Plus these dealers were saying the club was dissolved and they would start their own club in Chester. It was announced that the club was not dissolving; however, during the confusion some members still decided to leave. The President announced that we are not going to collect dues for 2011 membership as there were enough funds in the club's Treasury; therefore, funds were given back to departing members present at the December 2010 meeting. Other money will be refunded to members not present via mail. Then the December 2010 meeting continued with 6 members remaining and adjourned at 8 pm.

After the recap of the December 2010 meeting and some discussion regarding the past events, the President suggested we change our monthly meetings to Saturday evenings at the Library; however, the membership present unanimously decided to continue to meet on the second Monday of each month at the same time and same place, Colonial Italian Restaurant. Several different ideas were presented on how to offer coins and products to the membership and to focus more in information sharing and social fun for members. Coins and other items will still be offered for sale; however, they will be reviewed to make sure the seller is asking an appropriate reasonable price. Jim Ransom also announced that the February Bus trip to the US Mint is still taking place and passed out handouts to the membership present. With no further business the door prize drawing took place for 2 coin sets. Then the members began to mingle. Once the coin sets were given out, the meeting was adjourned.

Next meeting will be Monday, February 14, 2011 at Colonial Italian Restaurant, Colonial Heights, VA at 6:15 pm. Please come early and enjoy a great meal prior to the meeting.
