                                                                                      TRI-CITY COIN CLUB
                                                                     January 14, 2008

    The sixty-sixth meeting of the Tri-City Coin Club was called to order at 6:28pm. The President, George Minson, announced to the club that Mr. Otey is in the Hospital and is in intensive care. George encouraged everyone to send cards to Mr. Otey since we may not be able to visit him because of his condition. Mr. Otey's wife is also sick.
     June Hill, Secretary, read the minutes of the January meeting which was moved and seconded to be accepted as is.
     Elizabeth Deeb, Treasurer, reported a current balance as of the end of 2007. She said that she sent many "Get Well" cards to those members who were sick, just as she promised at the December 2007 meeting. Elizabeth reported that we have 76 Indian Head Pennies for the book. She listed the different dates to the club. She made a suggestion that since the club had decided to put the pennies in the book by date, that with the dates which we have doubles, triples, etc., that the club might decide to put them in a bag to go along with the book for auction, or that we could raffle off the extra coins. The treasurer's report was moved and seconded to be accepted as is.
     Danita Archer, Registrar, made her report of 23 members in attendance: 5 youth, and 18 adults. Her report was approved and seconded with no corrections.

     OLD BUSINESS-
     Margarita, our Web Master, stood up and announced that we needed to decide tonight, whether or not to keep the club's website: www.tricitycoinclub.com. She explained that Rodger had paid for the first year and that the club would need to pay for this upcoming year. The question of how many people had actually viewed the website, and Margarita said that the site had over 230 hits. Paul W., made a motion to take up donations to help the club with the website payment. The motion was moved and seconded. AND the club made a motion to keep the website for one more year, and it was moved and seconded.

     NEW BUSINESS-
     Elizabeth Deeb, Treasurer, handed the suggested by-laws to the members to review and to be discussed at the February meeting. She said that she would send a copy of the revised by-laws to the other members that were not present.
     George Minson Made a motion to make Harry Otey an Honorary Member of the Tri-City Coin, it was moved and seconded.
     Perry Bragg made an announcement about the "
Capital City Coin and Currency Show" at the Holiday Inn Central, May 30th, 31st, and June 1st. And the "Baltimore Bus Trip" March 1st, 2008.
     Minson said that he planned on asking the men that did the "Conterfit" Program, to come back and do another presentation. Minson also said that he hoped the young people would give reports on their nickel collections and such at the February meeting, or the March meeting.

SOCIAL BREAK AND VIEWING OF AUCTION ITEMS AND BUYING RAFFLE TICKETS - 7:12- 7:27pm.

THE AUCTION began at 7:27pm with only 2 sellers, and one Donation basket.
     The Items that were not sold from the Children's Auction, were put towards the Children's Door Prize Drawing.

     There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:50pm.
