SUBJECT: Club's Indian Head Coin Project
DATE: Club Meeting of 2-11-08

As of the first of the year. We had collected 76 Indian Head coins for our Club project. June has been kind enough to place the coins in a collection book. She found that 54 of the coins were duplicates that can be sold or traded for missing coins.

Including the three (3) Flying Eagle coins, there are fifty-seven (57) coins in a complete collection. We have twenty-two (22) in place, in the book, putting us about half-way to our GOAL. Last month I was able to provide an 1857 Flying Eagle from our auction, and have found six (6) of the missing Indian Heads in my surplus inventory (1860, 1863, 1873, 1876, 1883 and 1887). Additionally, I located eleven (11) other Indian Heads that can be added to the Club's surplus inventory for upgrading, selling, or trading. This brings us to twenty-nine (29) coins in the book and sixty-five (65) in our surplus inventory.

We are currently over half-way to completing our project! We only need twenty-eight (28) more coins in order to successfully complete our project. The missing or needed coins are as follows:

1858 Flying Eagle (Large Letters)___________ 1874
1858 Flying Eagle (Small Letters) 1875
1859 Indian Head 1877
1861 1878
1862 1879
1864 (No "L" on ribbon) 1884
1865 1885
1866 1888
1867 1889
1868 1894
1869 1896
1870 1908-S
1871 1909 (no mint mark)
1872 1909-S

For such a young club, to complete its project and reach our goal would be a great boost to the Club and its members. I would like to propose or challenge each active member to provide at least one (1) of the missing coins and any duplicates we can use for trading by our March 2008 meeting (3/10/08). Once we've done this, George can use our surplus inventory coins to trade with his dealer contacts for any remaining needed coins.

Lets "GET ER DUN", finish our project, and reach our goal! To do so would be a great start to our new year!

Thanks,
Paul
